Best AI Interview Assistants in 2026: Live Help, Practice, and the Stealth Question
The AI interview assistants worth using in 2026, from live in-interview help to free mock-interview practice, with prices checked on each vendor's site and a straight answer on the 'undetectable' tools.
The short answer: the best AI interview assistant for most candidates in 2026 is Hedy. It helps you prepare from the job description and your resume, gives you live prompts during a virtual interview, and reviews the conversation afterwards, with a free plan and Pro at $12.99 a month. If you only want to practise, Huru is free for job seekers. The tools that sell themselves as “undetectable” answer machines are the ones we’d avoid.
“AI interview assistant” now covers two very different products. Practice tools run mock interviews and score your answers before the real thing. Live assistants, often called interview copilots, listen to the actual interview and show help on your screen while you talk. A third group sits on top of the live assistants and promises the interviewer will never know. This guide covers all three, with prices checked on each vendor’s own site on 29 October 2026.

What to look for
Help that sounds like you. A suggested answer read off the screen sounds like a suggested answer read off the screen. The most useful live help is a nudge: the project that answers this question, the number you meant to mention, the question you wanted to ask back. You still do the talking.
Preparation that feeds the live help. The best tools let you load the job description, your resume and notes on the company before the call, so what appears during the interview is about this role, not generic advice.
A review afterwards. A transcript and feedback after each round show you which answers ran long and what to tighten before the next one.
Where your audio goes. An interview is a recording of you talking about your career, salary and current employer. Check where the audio is processed and whether the vendor trains on it. Of the tools here, only Hedy and Yoodli publish a clear position on training.
Our picks
1. Hedy: best overall
Hedy is built as a coach rather than an answer generator, and for interviews that is the right call. Before the interview you add the job description and your resume. During a Zoom, Teams or Meet interview it listens through your own device, so no bot joins the call, and it surfaces the experience that answers the question, reminds you of achievements you planned to mention, and suggests questions to ask the interviewer. Afterwards you get a transcript, a summary and feedback, and Topics keep every round with one company together so the next interview builds on the last.
Hedy says plainly that it does not script answers and does not offer a stealth mode, and its own guidance is to check the employer’s rules before using it live. That makes it the one live assistant here you could use without worrying about what happens if someone notices. It also works for practice: run a mock interview and it critiques filler words and suggests stronger phrasing.
Speech recognition runs on your device by default. AI feedback and summaries run in Hedy’s cloud unless you turn on its opt-in Local AI, which moves them on-device on capable hardware such as Apple Silicon Macs, Windows PCs with a capable GPU and iPhone 15 Pro or later. Hedy says it does not train AI on user data.
Price: free plan with 5 hours a month and live suggestions for the first 30 minutes of each session. Pro is $12.99 a month or $99.99 a year, with unlimited sessions and live suggestions for the first 120 minutes of each one, and a $299 lifetime licence is available. Runs on Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad, Android, Apple Watch and the web.
2. Huru: best free practice tool
Huru does one thing and gives it away to job seekers: AI mock interviews, either as a live 5 to 20 minute conversation or question by question, scored out of 100 across five dimensions, with a bank of more than 50,000 questions. It does not help during a real interview, which is exactly why it is safe to use as much as you like. It runs on iPhone, the web and as a Chrome extension; Android users use the web app.
3. Yoodli: best for polished delivery
Yoodli is an AI roleplay coach for interviews, pitches and presentations, with feedback on pacing, filler words and structure. The free Starter plan includes five roleplays in total; Pro is $8 a month billed annually for ten a week, and Advanced is $20 a month billed annually for unlimited sessions. Note that Starter and Pro session data may be used to improve Yoodli’s platform; Advanced and above are excluded from training by default.
4. Final Round AI: the best-known interview copilot
Final Round AI combines practice scenarios with an Interview Copilot that listens to the real call through its Mac or Windows app and shows a suggested answer after each question. The free plan covers prep tools only; live help starts with Pro at $25 a month or more, with discounts on longer terms. It markets itself as “100% undetectable”, with stealth mode on by default, which is the part we’d leave alone (see below).
Also live: LockedIn AI, Interview Sidekick, Parakeet AI, InterviewFox
These four work the same way as Final Round: listen to the interview, generate an answer. LockedIn AI runs on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android and has a mock interviewer; its free allowance is a few minutes of live help, and its prices did not load in a readable form when we checked. Interview Sidekick adds a coding copilot and costs $80 a month with a discount code that only applies in some regions. Parakeet AI sells credits at $38 each (about two 30-minute interviews) or unlimited use from $49.99 a month billed yearly, and is the only one that says it is for calls “where AI assistance is permitted”. InterviewFox is the cheapest unlimited plan at $29 a month billed yearly, and shows answers on your phone instead of your screen.
The “undetectable” problem
Final Round AI, Interview Sidekick and Parakeet AI all sell invisibility: hidden from screen share, hidden from the task list, and in Interview Sidekick’s case running under a disguised process name. InterviewFox sells a second-device mode as “undetectable” instead.
Hiding the window does not hide you. Reading a generated answer changes your pace, your eye line and the way you phrase things, and interviewers are looking for it. More employers now spell out their rules. Anthropic’s candidate guidance encourages AI for preparation but says live interviews are “all you” unless the company says otherwise. Amazon recruiter guidance reported in 2025 said candidates found using AI tools during interviews can be disqualified.
So the safe order is: practise with AI as much as you like, check the employer’s policy before using anything live, and if live help is allowed, use a tool that reminds you of your own experience rather than one that talks for you. That is the line between Hedy and the copilots.
Bottom line
For most candidates: Hedy, for preparation, honest live prompts and a review after each round, from free.
For practice on a zero budget: Huru.
For delivery and presence: Yoodli.
For a full answer on screen in every question: Final Round AI and the copilots above do it, but read the employer’s rules first, and expect an experienced interviewer to notice.
